They also melt at a specific temperature of 120°C (120 degrees Celsius) to highlight any overheating issues with the wheel, caused by bearing failure or brake drag. When positioned in a uniform pattern, any Wheel Nut Indicator that has shifted position and is misaligned with the pattern will clearly identify any nuts that have loosened, are missing or have melted due to a wheel overheating.
